The burnout-to-job-search pipeline A lot of jobseekers aren’t starting their search from a neutral place. They’re starting from burnout. From a job that slowly drained them. A workplace that didn’t accommodate. A role that looked right on paper but felt wrong every single day. If that’s you — first: I see you. That’s a real thing and it deserves to be named. Second: searching for a new job from that place is hard. It takes longer. It hits differently when you get a rejection. It’s easy to settle for the first thing that sounds “fine.” My coaching is specifically designed for people in this spot — neurodivergent jobseekers who need a search strategy that accounts for where they’re starting from, not just where they want to end up. I am part of a free user generated content (ugc) community if you want to connect with others on the same road before you’re ready for 1:1 support. Both doors are open. DM me and I’ll help you find the right one.

For the late-diagnosed crowd Getting a late ADHD or autism diagnosis in adulthood can reframe your entire work history. Suddenly the jobs that didn’t work out make sense. The managers who didn’t “get” you. The interviews that felt impossible. The environments that burned you out in months. It’s validating. And it can also be a lot to carry into a job search. I work specifically with neurodivergent jobseekers — including those who are newly diagnosed and trying to figure out what this means for their career. I am part of a free user generated content community where this conversation is welcome. I also do 1:1 coaching for people ready to build a job search strategy that actually works with their brain. You’re not starting over. You’re starting with more information. Let’s use it.

The “just apply more” advice The worst job search advice I’ve ever heard: “Just apply to more jobs.” As if the problem is volume. As if grinding out 50 applications a week is the answer. It’s not. Most of my clients come to me after months of applying — burnt out, demoralized, wondering what’s wrong with them. Nothing is wrong with them. They’ve just been using a strategy that doesn’t match their skills, their situation, or the current market. Better strategy > more applications. Every time. I’m part of a free user generated content community where jobseekers start learning what “better strategy” actually looks like. My coaching is where we build yours specifically. DM me or drop a comment — I’ll help you find the right starting point.

The “networking” word If the word “networking” makes you want to fake a headache and go home, this one’s for you. Networking advice is almost always designed for extroverts. “Just put yourself out there!” Cool, thanks. For neurodivergent jobseekers especially, cold networking can feel invasive, exhausting, or just deeply unnatural. But here’s the truth: connection is still the most effective job search tool there is. We just need to reframe what “connection” looks like for your brain. That’s a big part of what I do — both in the free ugc community (low-stakes, judgment-free) and in 1:1 coaching (personalized, strategic). You don’t have to network the way everyone else does. You just have to find the version that works for you. I can help with that.

The gap year explanation “So… can you explain this gap on your resume?” If that question makes your stomach drop, you’re not alone. Employment gaps are common. Caregiving, burnout, health, neurodivergent burnout, a pandemic — life happens. But the hiring system still treats gaps like a red flag. Here’s what I tell my clients: the gap isn’t the problem. The lack of a practiced explanation is. You deserve to talk about your timeline with confidence, not apology. The free ugc community in which I’m a creator coach is a space where jobseekers work through exactly this kind of stuff. My coaching digs into it personally and strategically. Comment below or DM me — I’ll help you figure out where to start.

The LinkedIn anxiety spiral You know you should be more active on LinkedIn. So you open the app. Then you close it. Then you open it again, stare at the blank text box, and close it again. This is not laziness. This is the pressure of performing “professional” in a format that rewards extroversion, self-promotion, and a very specific kind of confidence. A lot of my clients — especially neurodivergent ones — struggle with this. Not because they have nothing to say, but because the platform feels like a performance they didn’t audition for. In my free user generated content community, I show you how to get paid by making content for brands. In my 1:1 coaching, I help clients build a LinkedIn presence that actually sounds like them. If either of those sounds helpful, drop a comment and I’ll send you the details.

The overqualified trap “You’re overqualified.” Translation: we don’t know how to place you, so we’re going to make it your problem. If you’ve heard this more than once, it doesn’t mean you need to dumb down your resume. It means you need to get better at controlling your narrative. Your experience is an asset — but only if you know how to position it. I help jobseekers who’ve been written off by the traditional hiring system figure out exactly how to tell their story so the right employers actually get it. I am part of a free community creating paid content for brands and I do 1:1 coaching when you’re ready to go deeper. Which one sounds right for you right now?

The interview that went nowhere You finally got the interview. You prepped. You showed up. You thought it went well. Then: silence. If this has happened to you more than once, it’s worth asking — is there a pattern? Are you underselling yourself? Overexplaining? Masking instead of connecting? For a lot of neurodivergent jobseekers, interviews aren’t just stressful — they’re a system that was designed for a very specific communication style. And that style might not be yours. That’s not a deficit. It’s a mismatch. And it’s fixable. I work with a free user generated content community where jobseekers can ask questions, share experiences, and get real answers (and earn $). I also do 1:1 coaching for people who want hands-on help with interview strategy. DM and comment “ugc4me” and I’ll point you to the right place.
