From 3rd August, India's stock market gets a major upgrade Here's why it matters
SEBI is changing how the closing price of stocks is calculated
Earlier - Closing price = Average price of trades in the last 30 minutes (VWAP)
Now - Closing price = The price where the maximum buyers and sellers match in a closing auction.
Closing Price is the official final price of a stock at the end of the trading day
Example If a stock trades between ₹95 and ₹100 throughout the day, and the official closing price is ₹98, then ₹98 is used to calculate returns, mutual fund NAVs, indices, and F&O settlement.
Why does it matter?
✅ Harder to manipulate prices
✅ Better price discovery
✅ More accurate mutual fund NAVs, indices & F&O settlement
✅ Brings India in line with global markets
One change massive impact
The closing price isn't just a number it decides index values, mutual fund NAVs, F&O settlement, and billions of rupees worth of portfolios every single day.
SEBI has just made that number more reliable

Why do some businesses become Nestle while others become Vodafone Idea?
From Empty Chairs to Expansion: The Business Life Cycle Through Riya’s Cafe
Riya’s Cafe began as a rented corner with more chairs than customers Sales were low, rent was high and every day ended in red
1) This was the Startup Stage where you pay to learn before you earn
But slowly, things changed her cold coffee and cheese sandwiches became the talk of the neighbourhood office crowds walked in, Zomato ratings climbed, and discounts weren’t needed anymore
Sales rose, costs fell, and profits finally appeared
2) Welcome to the Growth Stage where every extra customer adds real money to the till
A few years later, Riya owned three cafes across the city regular customers, smooth operations, supplier credit, predictable cash flows everything ran like a system.
Growth cooled from 40% to 10%, but profits stayed strong and stable
3) This was the Maturity Stage leess chaos, more consistency.
But competition arrived new cloud kitchens ,trendy coffee chains footfall dropped while rent and salaries stayed the same
Now came the crossroads Let profits shrink? Or reinvent?
She could launch delivery only kitchens, build her own coffee brand, or turn one outlet into a co working cafe
4) This was the Decline or Extension Stage where businesses either fade or fight for a comeback.
Every stock is just a Riya’s Café at some stage of this journey
Startup → Growth → Maturity → Decline/Extension
Because behind every stock ticker is a Riya’s Cafe a story in progress the smartest investors don’t just buy the company they buy the stage of the journey

My friend just bought an iPhone 16 and I thought I am broke😭 but I was wrong
So today, my best friend and I went to the store to check the price
The iPhone 16 was around ₹62,000
Then the salesman said,
"Sir just pay ₹4,000 today the rest is on easy EMIs"
For a moment, it actually felt affordable
On the way back, my friend said,
"Bro, iPhones are normal now you should buy one too"
He'll spend the next few years paying EMIs
I'll keep using my ₹8,000 second-hand phone
No EMI
No monthly stress
Just peace of mind
Sometimes the most expensive phone isn't the one with the highest price tag
It's the one that keeps taking money out of your pocket every month
Don't ask, "How small is the EMI?"
Ask, "Is this purchase helping my future, or borrowing from it?"
That's the difference between looking rich and becoming rich
A genuine question for Gen Z: Would you rather own an ₹8,000 phone with zero stress, or an iPhone with years of EMIs?

I am 17, just passed Class 12
Then 2 Equity Research interviews brought me back to reality
The feeling of knowing everything made me feel like I was in the sky.
But after giving 2 Equity Research interviews reality hits very hard
Now I am back on the ground feeling like I know nothing but it's not a failure
It showed me where I am weak and what I need to improve and the biggest leaning is Good thing's take time
Every failure isn't a test.
Sometimes it helps you know where you are, what needs to be improved, and it shows you the reality of how everything works.
In Investor language
Sometimes stocks go through a correction to close the gap between imagination and reality before the next big rally
Currently stock price is down but after some time, it will boom.
Focus on long term growth a correction doesn't define you your fundamentals and potential do
I will come again and become a multibagger stock 😎📈
Shining off

Reputation Attacks Can Become Financial Attacks
For banks, reputation is not just branding.
Reputation is operating capital
If public confidence gets shaken, the impact can move through deposits, stock price, investor sentiment and employee morale.
That is why personal vendetta driven narratives around banks are dangerous
If the target is an individual, but the damage is done to the institution, then the public pays the price
This is exactly why the HDFC bank narrative needs to be seen carefully One sided panic can become real financial damage
